One Day in North Bay, ON: country singer Cory Marks

Country rocker Cory Marks on where to eat and drink in his hometown

A household name in the Canadian music scene, country rocker Cory Marks is known for his powerful vocals and high energy live performances.

Born and raised in North Bay, ON, Marks’ first made waves back in 2020 with his debut album Who I Am and its hit single “Outlaws & Outsiders”, which charted at #1 in the U.S. on Billboard’s “Rock Digital Song Sales” chart. The song made history in the U.S. by being the first-ever Top 10 rock radio charting single from a Canadian country act, and all eyes have been on Cory Marks ever since.

His latest single "A Different Kind of Year" was released in January and trust that the chart-topping singer has more new tunes planned for 2024.

If you find yourself in North Bay, ON, here's Marks' suggestions for where to eat and drink!

Breakfast

Burger World North Bay, owned by the Rivet family, is my favourite place to eat breakfast in town. All day breakfast!

Not only are they family friends, but the people that work there are like family to all of their customers. It's very much a ma-and-pa kind of spot.

gd2go is a great spot for a healthy, mean and clean lunch. They've got very fresh bowls, wraps and salads, which I love to grab after a workout.

Dinner

Casey's Grill Bar is a place we always go for special events like birthdays, anniversaries and stuff like that.

It's a legendary spot in North Bay, and it's also where my mom and dad met almost 40 years ago. The rest is history!

Drinks

There are a few breweries in North Bay like New Ontario Brewing Co. and Gateway Brewing, which are owned and operated by great people.

I would have to say [that I love having a drink at] the Fox & Fiddle because it's where I started out performing.
